If he decides to go with this option, I'd add some suspenders from ATS as they are very good, do not interfere with stuff added on top of them, and very reasonably priced. This might be an option: There are also some padded belts, and a rather nice-looking war belt, which, in truth, might serve the OP better than a chest rig, depending on his needs. I think you can find some nice stuff-and for cheap here. What would you recommend? I'm starting to look for a chest rig, too. However, given your constraints stated here, the Condor platform(s) with bare PALS platform should allow you the option to attach the number and size of pouches you need. One can't tell about the quality of the thread by eye, but it makes a huge difference in the long run, the more so as the weight carried by the Condor item increases. The Condor products generally look great, but they have in the past fallen down badly with regard to the type of thread used, and the quality of stitching work. To my mind, there are so many better made alternatives for just a little more money. ![]() I am sad when I see someone buy anything made from Condor, and which is expected to either carry any appreciable weight, or see rough conditions. Quality US surplus molle gear is out there for crazy cheap right now. Odds are weighted against you when it comes to overseas stuff like Condor. One (or even three) guys saying 'my piece of Condor gear hasn't failed me' does not make a statistical trend. Couldn't tear the webbing off if I tried (and I did try.) Those pouches now live inside a range bag for organization purposes.īottom line is, you're rolling the dice. ![]() The stitching holding the webbing just came undone, the webbing itself it unraveling (fixed with a soldering iron, but come on) ![]() This was before the HSGI tacos and the other great options we have today.Īfter a few years of admittedly not-hard use, SOME of the pouches are falling apart. They were designed for an AR mag, but because of their sloppy tolerances, you could shove an AK mag in as well. It's a crapshoot, foreign-made nylon gear.įor a long time, I used some Condor single mag shingles. A word on Condor quality (or more importantly, consistency):
